Benjamin Williamson
Benjamin Williamson is currently a Scholar at the Royal College of Music, recent winner of the RCM English Song Competition, and is supported by a Joe Lassetter Award and the Josephine Baker Trust. He was formerly a Choral Scholar at King’s College, Cambridge, where he read Philosophy. Recent performances include the role of Tassile in the Benjamin Britten International Opera School’s production of Handel’s Alessandro in the London Handel Festival, conducted by Laurence Cummings, and a live radio broadcast of Purcell’s Ode to St. Cecilia with JosefWallnig in the State Hermitage, St. Petersburg. Future engagements include the role of Alessandro (cover) in Handel’s Tolomeo with English Touring Opera, and Purcell’s The Fairy Queen with Retrospect Ensemble at the Wigmore Hall.
