Eva Braga Simões
Born in Braga, Portugal, Eva started her musical training aged 6 at the Conservatório de Música Calouste Gulbenkian de Braga. She obtained her Licentiate Music Diploma at Aveiro University under Professor António Salgado, having also learned under Peter Harrison, Palmira Troufa, Sara Braga Simões, José Oliveira Lopes, Ana Ester Neves, Laura Sarti, Patrícia MacMahon and Jill Feldman.
Eva had her operatic début in 2003 as Spirit in Purcell\'s Dido & Aeneas (dir. Cesário Costa). She also took part in Blow\'s Venus and Adonis and Debussy\'s L\'Enfant Prodigue. She played Bessie in Brecht and Weill\'s Mahagonny Songspiel (dir. António Saiote).
She regularly appears in concerts and oratories, amongst which Pergolesi\'s Stabat Mater and Salve Regina, Bach\'s Magnificat, Vivaldi\'s Glória, Mozart\'s Requiem, Coronation Mass, Missa Brevis KV92 and KV65, Duruflé\'s Requiem, Handel\'s Dixit Dominus and Britten\'s A Ceremony of Carols. She often collaborates with harpsichordist Júlio Galvão Dias and organists Tiago Ferreira and Giampaolo di Rosa, including a broadcast concert during the \'I International Festival of Iberian Organ\'.
More recently she has focused in historical performance, having worked under Graham O\'Reilly, Peter Phillips, Borges Coelho, Rainer Zipperling, Ketil Haugsand and Laurence Cummings. She is a member of \'Coro de Câmara da Universidade de Coimbra\' and since 2006 of Vocal Ensemble. She regularly collaborates with ensemble \'La Farsa\', focusing on early music for voice and plucked strings. Eva is also a soloist of the \'Coro da Casa de Música\' of Oporto under Paul Hillier.
