Juan Estevez
After initiating his harpsichord studies with Rafael Puyana in Bogotá, his native city, Juan Estevez attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London on a British Council grant. Courses with Kenneth Gilbert at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, Italy (1984 & 85). He obtained a Master's degree in Music from Boston University (1991) as a Fulbright fellow. He has extensively performed as a solo artist and in ensembles in Austria, Spain, France, England, Switzerland, Germany, Colombia and Brazil. He founded Musica Barocca in the 90's and currently lives in London. In the commentary after his recital in Baden, Switzerland, the critic of the Badener Tagblatt praised his exceptional capacity to communicate with the audience – “a rare quality in a harpsichordist” as well as his familiarity with the music aesthetics of the Baroque period.
